The MEWP training are conducted at our in-house premise, everyday* (8am to 6pm).

LEARNING OBJECTIVE

Upon successful completion of the program, candidates will be proficient in selection of appropriate MEWP, conducting risk assessment and routine checks, identification of hazards for MEWP operations, basic MEWP operations and reinstating MEWP in a safe manner.

ASSUMED ATTITUDE, SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

Ø  18 years and above

Ø  have a basic knowledge of the relevant sector of work

Ø  be able to listen and speak English / relevant language at a proficiency level equivalent to the Employability Skills(ES) Level 3

Ø  be able to read and write English / relevant language at a proficiency level equivalent to ES Level 3

Ø  be able to manipulate numbers at a proficiency level equipment to ES Level 3

Ø  be medically fit to work at height

IMPORTANT NOTE:

It is mandatory that all candidates bring along their own SAFETY SHOES and SAFETY HELMET.  Candidates who turn up for training without these two PPE would be classified failed and no refund would be granted.  Full training fee would be chargeable if they are registered for training again.

OPERATE BOOM LIFT COURSE

Course Briefing:

This course is designed for workers who need to use and operate an MEWP (Boom Lift) in any form of work, and to be able to do so in a much safer work environment.

This is also a mandatory course under the Workplace Safety and Health Regulations for individuals who are assigned to carry out the lifting operation of load involving a Lifting Machine.

Learning Objectives:

• Select an appropriate MEWP, including risk assessment for the task to be carried out
  
• State the safety requirements under the Workplace Safety and Health Act and the Code of Practice for Working Safely at Height related to MEWP
  
• Carry out pre-start inspection
  
• State factors affecting stability
  
• Identify common hazards during traveling, setup, operation and parking of MEWP and their control measures
  
• Conduct workplace inspection
  
• State function of all MEWPs controls, including emergency controls and emergency procedures
  
• Use personal protective equipment appropriate to the task, worksite and environment as a result of the risk assessment conducted and according to the manufacturer’s guidelines
  
• Operate MEWP safely

Prerequisites:

Learners must be above 18 years of age and are assumed to:

• Have a basic knowledge of the relevant sector of work
  
• Be able to listen and speak English / relevant language at a proficiency level equivalent to the Employability Skills (ES) level 3
